Statement:

父と過ごした少年の日の夏休み、夕暮れの時を僕は水辺で迎えていた。
それはまるでフィルムのワンシーンのように記憶の中にあって、今でも鮮明に思い出すことができる。
桟橋にならんで釣りをする親子の後ろ姿が映し出され、いつも父のほうが先に魚を釣り上げる。虹色に輝く鱗を見て、その瞬間に少年の心に沸いた、ささやかな悔しさを僕は思い出し、それは大人になったはずの僕を少しだけ切なくさせる。
短い映像の中では、すべてがやさしく流れていく。水が流れ、風が流れ、そして時がゆったりと流れていく。昔も今も、僕のまなざしは釣りをとおした流れる時間の中にあって、それがいつも僕を新しい場所へと突き動かしてくれる。
記憶の中にある、美しさと静寂の再現・・・これが僕にとっての釣り。

In my childhood, I spent my summer vacation with my father by the river at sunset.
In my memory it was like a scene from a film and I can still recall it vividly.
It shows a father and son fishing alongside a pier, with the father always catching the fish first.
Seeing the rainbow-colored scales, I remember feeling a little jealous as a boy, and as an adult some feelings still linger --- making me feel sentimental and nostalgic.
In the short film, everything flows gently.Water flows, wind flows, and time flows slowly.
In the past and now, my gaze has always been on the flow of time through fishing, and it has always encouraged me to move on to new places.
What is fishing to me ?... recreating the beauty and serenity in my memory.
